Swantewitt & Sage Simmentals

Based near Shiningbank Lake, Alberta, between Edson and Whitecourt, Swantewitt & Sage Simmentals is a family-owned and operated ranch managed by the Bremmekamp family, including Gerd, Donelle, and Darian. Established in 1991, the operation manages a registered herd of approximately 350 Simmental cows, with the genetic makeup split between 50% Fullblood Simmental and 50% Purebred Red Factor (with a small group of Black Simmentals). Their breeding philosophy centers on producing moderate-framed, high-production ranch bulls developed under realistic working conditions, prioritizing sound feet, udders, longevity, and good dispositions. By grazing their cattle on expansive, "bushy" pastures to ensure hardiness and utilizing a unique five-day halter breaking program for all sale offerings to guarantee temperament, the Bremmekamps provide producers with rugged, athletic seedstock designed to thrive in any environment.
