Based near Radville, Saskatchewan, Merit Cattle Co. is a premier grassroots operation managed by Trent and Janelle Liebreich and their family. With over 40 years of experience in the Angus industry, the program manages a herd of approximately 200 registered Black Angus females. Their breeding philosophy is built on the principle that "better cows make better bulls," prioritizing maternal excellence, structural soundness, and performance over short-term industry fads. By selecting for fleshing ability, foot quality, and udder integrity, they produce rugged, "ready-to-work" seedstock designed to thrive in the extreme environments of southern Saskatchewan. The program utilizes elite donor cows and proven cow families—such as the Socialites, Floras, and Blacklasses—to deliver high-capacity genetics that enhance the profitability and efficiency of both purebred and commercial producers.
